I often use arrows as typographical accents. There's no disputing their usefulness as typographical accents. A lot of desktop publishers, graphic artists, and small business people use them. Surprisingly, though, good-looking arrows often are hard to come by. Most general purpose clip-art packages include a few, but there's never quite enough of a selection to meet every need.
My most frequent picks come from the generous assortment of more than three dozen designer arrows built into Zapf Dingbats, a typeface resident in most laser printers. However, finding the right arrow for a particular task can be difficult. Some of the keystroke combinations are pretty weird. And, utilities like PopChar don't help much because of their relatively tiny on-screen displays.
That's why I created Arrows DA, a handy desk accessory that shows the 42 different Zapf Dingbats arrows and their keystroke combinations. Using Arrows as a viewing guide, I can quickly determine the correct way to type any arrow on the very first try.

P.S. Keep in mind that you can obtain interesting results by applying different type sizes and styles to Zapf Dingbats arrows. Also, reversing Zapf Dingbats arrows allows you to use them as "electronic whiteout" for touchup work, while overlaying them against dark backgrounds helps you create unique patterns and designs.
